What to tell us
Which tyre it is, where the car is and whether you have a usable spare. If you need a new tyre, the size is printed on the sidewall as a row of numbers such as 205/55 R16. Read it out when you ring or send a photo of it on WhatsApp, along with the make and model.
If the car has locking wheel nuts, look for the key before we arrive. It is usually in the glovebox, the boot or the spare wheel well, and without it the wheel cannot come off.
Do not drive on it
Driving on a flat tyre, even slowly, can ruin the tyre and damage the wheel. Pull over somewhere safe, put the hazard lights on and get out on the side away from the traffic. On the M1 or a fast A road, wait behind the barrier.
Plenty of newer cars come without a spare wheel, just a can of sealant and a pump. If yours is one of them, or the spare is flat too, that is fine. Tell us when you ring.
If the wheel is damaged
